Premier Corex (formerly known as Premier Oilfield Laboratories) was formed in May 2016 under the private equity sponsorship of CSL Capital Management. Over the next 2 years, the team acquired and integrated six businesses, focused on the generation and interpretation of rock and fluid data.

Premier Corex established its global headquarters in Houston, TX, hosting a full-service laboratory for rock and fluid analysis along with satellite facilities in Denver, and Midland. In addition to the laboratory locations and offices, Premier acquired MUD Geochemical, Inc. of Austin, TX, the ConocoPhillips Subsurface Research Laboratory of Bartlesville, OK, and The International Sample Library of Midland, TX which hosts the largest private collection of rock samples.
Internationally, Premier acquired COREX. Founded in the 1980s, COREX became one of the world’s leading independent core analysis providers before joining Premier in December 2016. Premier inherited - and continues to grow - COREX centers of excellence in Aberdeen (Scotland) and Cairo (Egypt), as well as front-line laboratories in Noida (India), Basra (Iraq), Abu-Dhabi (UAE) and Al Ahmadi (Kuwait). In addition to routine and special core analysis, Premier Corex is known as a pioneer in formation damage assessment, an area of continued global leadership within Premier today.
Premier Corex is proud to build on the reputation of innovation and excellent customer service that its acquisitions have established over 45+ years in business, supporting clients throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Far East, and Australia.
We have established new business models that facilitate cost-effective data generation through cost-sharing approaches, and that help groups of clients to solve common challenges through shared data workspaces. We believe in the preservation and curation of subsurface samples and data, using them to address the challenges of today’s energy industry and tomorrow’s resource opportunities. These new ways of doing business set Premier Corex apart from other testing-focused laboratories.
